Arlene Rialson

The funeral service for Arlene Rialson, 88, of Tracy, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church in Tracy.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Life Remembrance Center – Horvath Funeral Service in Tracy.  Visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church.  Interment will take place at the Rialson Cemetery.

Arlene Frances (Holznagel) Rialson was born on December 17, 1929, in Charlestown Township, Redwood County, to William and Ella (Trapp) Holznagel.  She was baptized at Christ Lutheran Church in Wanda and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn.  Arlene graduated from Sanborn High School in 1947.

On October 2, 1949, she was united in marriage to Marvin Rialson at Zion Lutheran Church in Tracy.  The couple lived on the Rialson Homestead until 1958 when they moved to the Garvin area.  In 1963, they purchased a farm near Garvin where they resided until 1989 when they moved to Tracy.

Arlene was a homemaker and waitress most of her life.  She enjoyed working with the public.  She also enjoyed traveling, playing cards and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Arlene took great joy in getting to know others.  In addition to working as a volunteer at the Lyon County Fair, she was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Tracy, 4-H and the Nivrag Doll Club.

Arlene died on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the Prairie View Senior Living in Tracy, MN.

She is survived by her children John Rialson of Garvin, Lyn (and Barry) Bakker of Willmar, Bob Rialson of Garvin, grandchildren Wendy (and Cade) Cradduck, Jim Rialson, Tony (and Ashley) Rialson, Tim (and Lisa) Bakker, Kelly (and Nate) Ziemann, Kari (and Andy) Wilkison, Gretchen (and Megan) Rialson, and Kevin Rialson, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin in 2014, brothers Russell and Lester and sisters Evelyn and Eulalia.
