Helen D. Erickson, age 86, of Prior Lake passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN.
Helen, the daughter of George and Lois (Yearing) Willford, was born on June 19, 1931 in Redwood City, CA. She married Donald Erickson on March 24, 1951 in Tracy, MN. They had a loving marriage for 60 years. While raising their family, Helen worked as a manager for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota for 27 years. She will be remembered for her love of crafts and her numerous artistic talents that ranged from sewing, knitting, and painting to her most recent passion, miniatures, where she developed many close friendships. Helen always looked forward to welcoming a new baby into the family and was blessed with nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She had a young spirit and lived her life to the fullest. She will be deeply missed.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents, George and Lois Willford; sister, Rosalie Weber.
Helen is survived by her children, Dianne (Dennis) Bouley, Pam Dauffenbach, Paul (Julie), Susan Merritt; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and her special “miniature” friends group.
Visitation is Friday, June 15, 2018 from 9-10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. at McNearney-Schmidt Funeral Home, 1220 3rd Ave. E., Shakopee, 952-445-2755. Interment Spring Lake Cemetery, Prior Lake.
