Funeral services for William “Bill” Junior Pattinson were held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Currie, MN on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with Msgr. R. Paul Heiting officiating. The organist was Patty LeClaire. The song leader was LoAnn Hansen.
The pallbearers were Tommy Byrne, Joe Byrne, Brandon Rignell, Preston Rignell, Jordan Tredinnick, Mackenzie Lau, and Madeline Caron. Interment is at Calvary Cemetery in Currie, MN. Military honors accorded by the Currie America Legion post.

Bill Pattinson was born on May 3, 1926 in Delft, Minnesota to William and Elizabeth Baergen Pattinson. In 1930 the family moved to Currie, MN where Bill attended Tracy Elementary and High School. Bill enlisted in the United States Army on December 11, 1944 and served in the Pacific Theater. Following his discharge on November 16, 1946 he returned to Currie.
On August 25, 1951 he and Patricia “Pat” Schimek were married at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Currie. Following their marriage they made their home in Currie where Bill worked for the United States Postal Service as Postmaster in Currie until his retirement in 1992. In October 2013 they moved to O’Brien Court in Tracy, MN. Pat passed away on July 19, 2015. In June 2018 Bill moved to the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy for a short time before moving to Our House Hospice Home in Slayton.
Bill passed away there on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the age of 92. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Currie. Bill was recently honored for being a 70-year member of the Currie American Legion Post. Bill served on the Currie City Council, and the Currie Fire Department and was a member of the Currie Town and Country. Bill enjoyed fishing, the New York Yankees, watching old western movies and playing cards at the legion.
Survivors include his three daughters and their spouses, Kathy and Tom Byrne of Currie, MN, Kris and Tim Rignell of Tracy, MN, and Karen and Kim Erbes of Tracy, MN, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Pat, son, Bill Pattinson, grandson, Matt Pattinson, and three sisters and their spouses, Marjorie and Chuck Eimerbrink, Dorothy and Lemmy Jensen, and Kathryn and Duane Pommier.
