Naomi Olson

Naomi Alberta Olson, 90, of LaPalma, CA, died on September 2, 2018.  Her husband, Hubert, born in 1924, died 5 days before her on August 27, 2018.   She was born on May 15, 1928, at Tracy, MN, the daughter of Gilbert and Elvina (Holten) Olson. She graduated from Tracy High School in 1946 and after graduation, worked for Bell Telephone Co. in Tracy until transferring to Minneapolis in 1949.  She later worked for the Nevins Co. in Minneapolis as a PBX operator.

Naomi married Hubert Jansen and they moved to California in 1954.  They lived in LaPalma, CA, over 60 years, where they raised 3 children and she very active in their lives.  They made numerous trips to Minnesota over the years, especially for her mother’s 100th birthday in 1998.  After Hubert’s retirement, they traveled several times to Europe and throughout the US and Canada.

Naomi is survived by her children, Patty Duffy, Greg Jansen, and Gary (Judy) Jansen, grandchildren, Kevin (and Amanda) Duffy, Brian (and Katy) Duffy, Megan Jansen, Ian (and Jenna) Jansen, Ian Jansen, great grandchildren, Avery and Owen Duffy, Leila Jansen, sisters, Lorraine Frisvold, Slayton, MN, Arlene Gleason, Owatonna, MN, and Connie (Tom) Harnack, Rochester, MN and 12 loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert, father Gilbert (1947), mother Elvina (2004), and brother, Howard Olson (1936).  Visitation and funeral for both Naomi and Hubert were from Renaker Klockgether funeral home in Buena Park, CA and burial was at Riverside National Cemetery at Riverside, CA.
