Funeral Services for Stanley “Stan” Dale Clausen, of Currie, MN were held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Currie, MN on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. with Msgr. R. Paul Heiting officiating.  The organist was Patty LeClaire.  The song leader was LoAnn Hansen.  The pallbearers were his grandchildren.  Interment was at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Avoca, MN. 

Stan Clausen was born on November 21, 1939 on the family farm near Dundee, Minnesota to Julius and Lillian Koehn Clausen.  He grew up on the farm and graduated from Fulda High School in 1958.  

On May 21, 1960 he and Eva Schafer were married at St. Mary’s Church in Worthington, MN.  Following their marriage they made their home in Fulda for a short time before moving to Avoca, MN.  In 1975 they moved to a farm near Fulda, MN.  Stan retired from farming in 1999.  They then moved to a home on Lake Shetek until 2015 when they moved to Currie, MN.  

Stan moved to Our House Hospice on January 2, 2019 where he passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the age of 79.  

He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Currie.  Stan served as President of the Friends of Lake Shetek State Park for 7 years.  He also was a member of the Federal Housing Association and served as Mayor of Avoca.  Stan enjoyed spending time with family, coffee time with friends at the café, hunting, fishing, playing cards, trap shooting, and mowing road ditches. 

Survivors include his wife, Eva Clausen of Currie, MN, four children and their spouses, Joe and Brenda Clausen of Fulda, MN, Patty and Paul Clausen-Klutse of Zimmerman, MN, Becky and Daniel Fox of Cottage Grove, MN, and Charlie and Janie Clausen of Maple Grove, MN, 11 grandchildren, one great-grandson and five siblings and their spouses, Carol Erickson of Woodbury, MN, Marilyn Mobley of Tracy, CA, Richard and Marjean Clausen of Bloomington, MN, Darrel and Donna Clausen of King City MO, and Tom and Kerry Clausen of Cohasset, MN and several nephews and nieces and their families.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Edward, two brothers-in-law, Richard Erickson, and Lon Mobley, and one sister-in-law, Kathy Clausen.
