Best in her class

Cassidy Smith awarded state ‘Triple A’ award

Cassidy Smith certainly didn’t see this coming.

Smith, a senior at Tracy Area High School, was named the Class A girls’ state ’Triple A’ winner. She received the award on March 23 and was recognized at halftime of a boys’ state Class AA game.

“Halftime was really cool, with the big screen and being on TV,” Smith said.

Smith, the third straight TAHS student to represent Region 3A in the Minnesota State High School League “Triple A” competition, attended the ‘Triple A’ banquet before the basketball game with her peers who were up for the award. Smith enjoyed getting to know some of the other students, but admits she was a bit intimidated.
