Oma Elaine (Beehler) Stanek was born on May 21, 1934, in Olivet, SD. She was the only child to William and Ruth (Grim) Beehler.
She attended grade school in Olivet, SD. The family moved to Witchita, KS, as her father was employed with Boeing. They relocated to Sioux Falls, SD.
Oma graduated from Sioux Falls College and taught elementary school in Wagner, SD before moving to Slayton, MN to teach 4th grade – where she met Lowell Stanek.
On April 10, 1965, she married Lowell at Northside Baptist Church in Sioux Falls, SD. Lowell and Oma had two children: Ellen and Richard Stanek.
Oma and Lowell made their home in Slayton, MN and Tracy, MN; eventually moving to Alexandria, MN to be closer to their grandchildren and watch them grow up.
She enjoyed spending time at their lake home, card clubs, and time with family.
Oma passed away on September 28, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Beehler.
She is survived by her husband, Lowell Stanek; two children and their families: Ellen & James Gruhot of St. Peter, MN and Richard & Shelly Stanek of Osakis, MN; grandchildren: Dacotah, Tianna and Tessa Stanek.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 4, 2019, 5-7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home with a Private family service at a later date. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
