Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy Storck, 93, of Marshall, was on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at Holy Redeemer Church in Marshall. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Arrangements with Rehkamp Horvath Funeral Directors of Marshall, MN.
Dorothy Ann (Hyllested) Storck was born on December 28, 1926, in Tracy, MN, to Peter and Martha (Vogelsburg) Hyllested. She grew up and attended school in Tracy. On July 10, 1950, Dorothy was united in marriage to William F. Storck at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy. After William completed his service during the Korean Conflict, the couple moved to Marshall, where they raised their family. William died tragically at the age of 34 in a car accident in 1956, after which Dorothy continued to raise her children. Dorothy worked as a waitress at a variety of places. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Eagles Club Auxiliary, and the Catholic Daughters. Dorothy enjoyed daily volunteer work at the Marshall Senior Center and was proud to have obtained her GED later in life.
Dorothy died on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Divine Providence Care Center in Ivanhoe, MN. She is survived by her children Marsha Storck of St. Louis Park and Norman Storck of Marshall; siblings Frank Hyllested of Tracy, Carol Wendt of Eden Prairie, and Johanna Bartlett of Stillwater, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, and siblings Dick Hyllested, Martin Hyllested, Fern Trout, Harold Hyllested, Helen Hyllested, and Verna Wadhams.
