Johanna Bartlett

Johanna Lucille Bartlett, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home in Stillwater surrounded by her family. Services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.

Johanna was born November 2, 1935 in Tracy, Minnesota to Peter and Martha (Vogelsberg) Hyllested. She grew up in Tracy and graduated from Tracy High School. She and Roy L. Bartlett were married on April 19, 1958 in Tracy, Minnesota.

She enjoyed playing Canasta with her friends at the senior center and visiting the Town & Gown Theater here in Stillwater. She loved to travel and was a member of a travel club for several years traveling the country admiring all the beautiful scenery. She was very devoted to her Catholic faith and was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

Survivors include her four daughters, Debbie McCoy and husband Mike of McCall, Idaho, Barb Castro and husband Gabriel of Owasso, Oklahoma, Gerry McMahon and husband Michael of Danbury, Connecticut, and Marlene Bartlett of New York, New York; six grandchildren, Tim McCoy, Jessie McCoy, Chris McCoy, Molly McMahon, Kaitlin McMahon, and John-Paul Castro; two great-grandchildren, Joe McCoy, and Lukas McCoy; one sister, Carol Wendt of Bloomington, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy in 1971; parents; eight siblings, Dick Hyllested, Martin Hyllested, Fern Trout, Harold Hyllested, Helen Hyllested, Verna Wadhams, Dorothy Storck, and Frank Hyllested; and one grandson, Scott McCoy.

A Celebration of Johanna’s life was held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stillwater with Father Duck officiating. Inurnment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Karman Legacy Hospice in c/o Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, 5106 N. Washington, Stillwater, OK., 74075.
