Lanny Iversen

Lanny Iversen, age 71 of Tracy, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 30, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Memorial Services were held Monday, October 4, 2021 at First United Methodist Church in Balaton. Visitation was Sunday, October 3 at Tracy Area Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.   Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery in Garvin.  Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com.  Stephens Funeral Service – Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lanny Reed Iversen was born June 17, 1950 in Tracy, Minnesota to Carl and Anna (Ruschmann) Iversen. Lanny was born the youngest of five children, and was raised in Garvin, Minnesota.  Lanny and his family later moved to Tracy, where Lanny attended Tracy High School.  After high school, Lanny attended Canby Vocational School, and received a degree in welding and fabrication. Along with his skills in metal work, Lanny became very knowledgeable in carpentry, as well as other types of skilled labor.  Lanny was married on October 24, 1970, to Nancy Lanoue, and they raised a family of three.  Lanny and Nancy lived in various locations that included Revere, Baltic, South Dakota, Pikeville, Kentucky, as well as Killeen, Texas. During their time in Baltic, South Dakota, Lanny was a proud member of the Baltic Fire Department.  Upon moving back to Minnesota, Lanny and his family eventually settled in Tracy, where he drove school bus on the Garvin route for 12 years.   Over the years, Lanny had many hobbies, and loved to spend time with, and looking after, his several grandchildren. Lanny’s hobbies included woodworking, painting ceramics, bow hunting, fishing, darts, boating, and for 30 years he enjoyed playing horseshoes, where he had won several awards, and was the league President.

Lanny is survived by his wife of 51 years of marriage, Nancy (Lanoue) Iversen; brother Charles (Doris) Iversen; sister Carla (Lester) Pemble; children: Robin (Jeff) McMath, Brenda (Tony) Rolling, and Lance (Ann Koch) Iversen; grandchildren: Rick (Caitlin) McMath, Joey McMath, Stevie McMath, Alex (Bailey Olson) Rolling, and Mitchell Rolling; great-grandchild, Everleigh Olson, as well as Carsyn Fairchild, the son of Ann Kock.  Lanny is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Lanny is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Anna (Ruschmann) Iversen, brothers, Monte and Gene Iversen, and two brothers-in-law, Richard Lanoue, and Thomas (Beth) Brewers.
