Kevin K. Arnold, age 66 of Tracy formerly of Holly Township, passed away with his family by his side Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Sanford Sioux Falls Hospital. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Tracy Area Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, June 3 at Tracy Area Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Interment will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery at a later date. Kevin Karl Arnold was born April 30, 1956 to Carl and Alta (Erickson) Arnold in Tracy, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove. In 1974, Kevin graduated from Tracy High School, following graduation he started farming with his father, Carl and brother-in-law, Marlin. Kevin would eventually also farm and work closely with his uncle Roy. On December 15, 1979, he married the love of his life, Kimberly Engler, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Dovray. To this union five children were born. Together they became grandparents with their first grandchild “Louie” and Kevin took great pride as a grandpa to all eight of his grandchildren. After Kevin retired from farming, Kevin began working at the Worthington Walmart, where he worked for almost 20 years. Kevin moved off the family farm, where he had lived for 55 years, into Tracy in 2015. Kevin enjoyed participating in 4-H, softball and bowling leagues and was a member of Jaycees throughout the years. He loved taking his children and grandchildren on tractor rides. He enjoyed bonfires, playing “night yard games” with his kids and spending time with his family. Kevin was known for making witty remarks, his “Dad Jokes” and causing mischief. You could often find him watching John Wayne movies, mowing the yard or tinkering around the farm. Kevin was a very generous person and would give the shirt off his back, he will be missed.
Kevin is survived by his wife Kimberly; children: Layne, Natalie, Cassidy (Mary), Melanie (Nick Johnson) and Cody; grandchildren: Lexis Arnold, Damon Giefer, Tyler Arnold, Ethan Rumfelt, Emma Arnold, Isaac Arnold and Trevor Arnold; sister Becky (Marlin) Peterson; sister-in-law Kay (Randy) Pederson; father-in-law Lanny Engler; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alta & Carl, grandparents, infant grandson Lincoln Roy Arnold, uncle Roy, aunt Louise, mother-in-law Darlene and other relatives.
