JoEllen Anderson, age 72, of Jackson, Minnesota, passed away with her family by her side, at her residence, on Monday, June 13, 2022.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the Osterberg Funeral Home in Jackson.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life Gathering from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at the Jackson American Legion.

JoEllen Karry Anderson, daughter of Mattias and Valborg (Christiensen) Pearson, was born on Monday, January 30, 1950, in Tracy, Minnesota. She lived in the small town of Garvin, but she attended and graduated from Tracy Schools in 1968. Soon after, she was married to Luverne (Vern) Anderson with whom she had three children. She later moved to Jackson, where she met Junior Cole and settled-in on the acreage in the country where they raised her 3 boys Christopher, Craig, Corey and stepdaughter Barbara. On February 4, 1994, she was united in marriage to Jerry Anderson. She was employed as the office manager at Rainbow Behavioral Health in Windom for many years. JoEllen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson and volunteered her time working with the local blood drives. On Monday, June 13, 2022, JoEllen passed away peacefully at home, at the age of 72 years, 4 months, and 13 days.
JoEllen was a very compassionate woman. She was always willing to listen to others or help them out in time of need. JoEllen was quite particular about her home, doing all of the interior decorating herself, and making sure the lawn was always well manicured. Jo had many dear friends, made new friends easily and enjoyed visiting with everyone. She was always on the go, loved to shop and stroll around craft fairs and the like with friends. Over the years she played on various bowling and pool leagues emphasizing her love of being around people. In her younger years, she was slightly on the rebellious side, she loved dancing, drag racing and live music. Above all things, JoEllen loved spending time with her friends and family. Her grandchildren were her greatest source of pride.
JoEllen is survived by her husband of 28 years, Jerry Anderson; sons Christopher (Jill) Anderson of Winsted, Minnesota, Craig Anderson of Big Lake, Minnesota, and Corey (Karlie) Anderson of Jackson, Minnesota, as well as her three grandchildren Marissa Anderson, Cale Anderson, Gabriella Anderson, and Justin Barger.
JoEllen is preceded in death by her parents Mattias and Valborg, and brothers John, James, and Jerome.
