Ivadell Reinert, 75

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, June 10, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the Tracy Lutheran Church in Tracy for Ivadell J. “Ivy” Reinert, age 75 of Tracy, MN. Ivy died Thursday, June 2, 2005 at her home.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy and continuing one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be at the Tracy City Cemetery in Tracy. The Almlie Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Ivadell J. “Ivy” Reinert was born July 9, 1929 to Fred and Reka (Schmidt) Legler in Chicago, IL, Cook County. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. As a young child she moved with her family to a farm near Dundee, MN and attended Fulda Public Schools, graduating from Fulda High School in Fulda, MN. After high school Ivy went to beauty school in Minneapolis and returned to Tracy, MN where she worked as a beautician for several years.

On June 20, 1951 Ivy married Keith Reinert in Dundee, MN and they made their home on a farm near Dundee. They moved to a farm near Tracy where they raised their family and she remained living until her death. Ivy was a member of Tracy Lutheran Church and the Tracy American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed both flower and vegetable gardening, cooking and her grandchildren.

On Thursday, June 2, 2005 Ivy died at her home at the age of 75.

Ivy is survived by her one son, Brian (Martha) Reinert of Montevideo, MN; two daughters, Deborah (Sterling) Larson of Palmer, AK and Mary (James) Sweetman of Tracy, MN; nine grandchildren, Melissa, Kristin and Molly Sweetman, Megan, Heather, Kara and Conner Larson and Rose and Addie Reinert; two sisters, Verilyn Legler of Slayton, MN and Donna Karshnik of Dundee, MN; one brother, Marlin Legler of Grand Island, NE; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her parents, husband, Keith, one daughter, Cheryl, and one brother, Lyle preceded her in death.

 


Dorothy McWhirter, 66

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 for Dorothy McWhirter at Tracy Lutheran Church in Tracy, MN. Rev. Stephen Olson and Rev. Gary Gabel officiated. Organist was Richard Stelter.

Casket bearers were Ron Dunk, Dallas Norstegard, Bob Bruss, Dennis Norstegard, Steven Torkelson and Jeff Gregg.

Dorothy Jean McWhirter was born July 3, 1938 to Morris and Frances (Visker) Johnson on a farm in Shetek Township, Lyon County, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended Tracy Public Schools.

On June 11, 1960 Dorothy married John McWhirter at the Tracy Lutheran Church. They made their home in Tracy for a short time and then moved to Tulsa, OK. Over the years in Tracy Dorothy worked for Jim’s Café, Tracy Hotel, Eat Shop and Café Skandia. While in Tulsa, she worked for Dairy Queen, Braun’s Ice Cream Store and did babysitting.

In the fall of 1996 they moved back to Tracy and lived there ever since. She enjoyed growing house plants and bird watching. She will always be remembered by her family for her fried chicken and planning all the family gatherings.

On Saturday, June 4, 2005 Dorothy died at the Tracy Area Medical Services at the age of 66.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, John of Tracy, MN; one son, Anthony Williams and fiancé Jody Coltharp of St. Paul, MN; two brothers, Keith Weinberg of Windom, MN and Larry Weinberg of Heartland, WI; nine sisters, Theresa Johnson of Tracy, MN, Marlene Torkelson of Currie, MN, Clarice Norstegard, Janice Dunk and Gretch Danielson, all of Tracy, MN, Eunice Behrends of Worthington, MN, Karen Peterson of Iona, MN, Debra Daniel of Queen’s Creek, AZ and Kay Paczkowski of Tracy, MN; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her parents, two brothers, Robert Johnson and Ken Weinberg, and one sister Linda Johnson preceded her in death.

Interment was in Tracy City Cemetery with the Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy handling the arrangements.
