Clara Miller, 94

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 for Clara Miller, age 94, of Marshall, at First Lutheran Church in Marshall.

Clara Ellen Wipperman was born to Hiram and Carrie (Hutchins) Wipperman on December 11, 1910 in Barron, Wisconsin. She graduated from Barron High School. She also attended Normal Teaching School at Rice Lake, Wisconsin and taught school in Barron County.

On May 30, 1932, she was united in marriage to Erwin Herman Ernst Miller at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Almena, Wisconsin. They moved from Almena in 1935 to Tracy, Minnesota. She assisted her husband with the Miller Implement Company. She was employed at J.C. Penney’s in Tracy. She was also active in Tracy Lutheran Church and was President of Ladies Aid. She taught Sunday school for many years and worked with the Cub Scouts. In 1959, the couple moved to Marshall, where she was employed by Sears. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church. Clara’s enjoyments in life included traveling, bowling, Bridge and spending time with her family and friends.

Clara passed away Thursday, November 10, 2005 at the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy. She had reached the age of 94 years, 10 months and 30 days.

She is survived by her two sons, Dale (and Vergene) Miller, of West Lafayette, Indiana and Duane (and Lynda) Miller of Eldridge, Iowa; four grandchildren, Michael (and Iris) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Meg (and Eric) Howlett of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Les, of Longmont, Colorado, and Ellen of Eldridge, Iowa; and three great grandchildren, Anna, Lindsey and Kira.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Elizabeth Hill.

Interment was in the Tracy City Cemetery with the Hamilton Funeral Home of Marshall handling the arrangements.
