Annola
Pagel, 94
Annola “Nook” Pagel passed
away Saturday October 13, 2012 at the age of 94 in Morris, Minnesota.
Annola was born to Herman and
Laura (Saathoff) Dunteman on December 31, 1917 in Amiret Township, Lyon County,
MN. She attended grade school in Amiret and graduated from Tracy High
School.
Annola was married to William
Pagel on February 5, 1935. After farming in the Amiret area for a number
of years, they began racing Harness Horses in the 1950’s.After racing
throughout Minnesota, Iowa, Canada, the Dakota’s and Eastern United States they
retired in 1989 to Geff, IL. After William died in 1990 Annola lived in
Geff, IL and then Norco, CA. She moved to the Grandview Apartments
in Morris in 2004 and in 2011 moved to West Wind Village in Morris.
She was preceded in death by
her parents, husband, sons William, John and Dale, brother Gerald, sister
Viona, sons-in-law Kenneth Nelson and Victor Senn.
Annola is survived by
daughters Muriel Nelson, Minnetonka, MN, Lilyne Senn, Norco, CA; sons Leslie
“Bud” (Betty) Pagel, Brainerd, MN, Wayne (Darla) Pagel, St. Louis Park,
MN, Dan (Linda) Pagel, Morris, MN, daughter-in-law Joyce Pagel, Geff, IL;
15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren; sisters
Rosalyn Zvorak, Cold Spring, MN, Laureen Harris, Cloquet, MN, and sister-in-law
Barbara Stromswold, Mankato, MN; and many cousins, nieces and nephews, and
friends.
Services will be Saturday
October 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., visitation 1 hour prior to service, Tracy Area
Funeral Home, Tracy MN. Burial at the Amiret Cemetery. Following
burial a luncheon will be provided at the funeral home.
Wayne Wiese, 73
Wayne Wiese was born on August 11, 1939 in Heron Lake, Minnesota to
Harry and Clara Grunig Wiese. He was baptized and confirmed in the
Methodist Faith. The family later moved to a farm in Holly Township,
Murray County and Wayne attended Tracy High School graduating in 1957. Wayne
served in the National Guard from 1957 to 1963.
On May 21, 1961 he
and Bonnie Artz were married in Tracy, MN. Following their marriage they
made their home in Pipestone, MN and Wayne started working for Northern States
Power Company as a lineman. In 1977 they returned to Tracy until 1986
when they moved to Slayton where Wayne was District Representative for NSP.
Wayne retired in 1995. Wayne was a member of the Hiawatha Club and worked
on the lighting crew for the Hiawatha Pageant in Pipestone. He also was a
member of the Slayton Kiwanis.
Wayne passed away on Saturday,
October 13, 2012 at Our House Hospice Home in Slayton at the age of 73.
Wayne was a member of the
United Methodist Church in Slayton. Wayne enjoyed bird watching, hunting,
fishing, and camping with family and friends. Gardening was a passion for
Wayne. He always had a large garden and would share the bounty with many.
Survivors include his wife,
Bonnie Wiese of Slayton, MN, three children and their spouses, Wendy and Steven
Rode of Lino Lakes, MN, Julie and Kent Johnston of Tracy, MN, and Scott and
Lori Wiese of Brandon, SD, seven grandchildren Nick and Nathan Rode, Will, Kate
and Anna Johnston, and Britani and Charlie Wiese, one sister, Patsy Hutchins of
Eugene, OR, two brothers-in-law, Vernon Holbrook of Moreno Valley, CA, Gene
Bratsch and his wife, Marilyn of Minnetonka, MN, two sisters-in-law, Betty Bloch
and her husband, Wally of Okabena, MN and Marian Warren and her husband, Tom of
Marshall, MN, and many nieces, nephews and good friends.
He is preceded in death by his
parents, sister, Janice Holbrook, and sister-in-law, Lois Bratsch.
A celebration of his life will
be held on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Juniper’s Bar and Grill at 3124 Juniper
Ave. in Slayton, MN from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests
memorials to Hospice of Murray County. Totzke Funeral Home of Slayton is
