Leona C. DeJaegher, 93

 

Leona DeJaegher, age 93, of Nevada, Iowa, and formerly of Tracy, Minnesota, died Friday, October 24, 2014, at Story County Senior Care in Nevada.

Memorial services were 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at Story County Senior Care in Nevada, with Pastor Myron Herzberg officiating.  Graveside committal services were held Saturday, November 1, 2014, in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Tracy, Minnesota.  Condolences may be sent online to www.ryanfunerals.com.

Leona Cecilia DeJaegher was born in Gullegem, Belgium on March 23, 1921, to Leo and Maria (Vansteenkiste) Delplancke.  She married Albert DeJaegher in 1945, and the couple had one daughter, Lillian.  In 1949, the family immigrated to the United States, became U. S. citizens, and began farming in the Marshall, Minnesota area.  In 1964, Leona and Albert purchased a farm near Tracy, Minnesota where they lived until Albert’s death in 1990.

Following Albert’s death, Leona moved to a small home in Nevada, Iowa to be closer to her daughter and family.  Illness necessitated Leona’s move to a local care facility.  Most recently, she was a resident of Story County Senior Care in Nevada.

Leona is survived by her daughter, Lillian Gaulke of Nevada; a granddaughter, Jill (Scott) Harlan of Waterloo; a great-granddaughter, Alexis Harlan of Waterloo; and several relatives in Belgium.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; a son-in-law, Lynn Gaulke; and several relatives in Belgium.

Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Leona and her family.

 

Robert Knott, 83

Funeral services for Robert Knott, 83, of rural Tracy, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2014, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Tracy. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Almlie-Horvath Funeral Home in Tracy. Visitation will continue from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will follow the service at the Hoiland Cemetery in Tracy.

Robert died on Monday, November 3, 2014, due to a medical condition that caused a car accident south of Jasper, MN.

Lee Sheets, 54

Lee Alan Sheets passed away unexpectedly in his home on October 28th 2014 in Crosby, Minnesota at the age of 54.

Lee Sheets is survived by his mother, Lana Sheets of Walnut Grove, Minnesota; his children, Justin and wife Jennifer Sheets, Cindy Sheets, and Jaime Sheets; siblings Lewis Jr. and wife Betty Sheets of Mesa, AZ, Sherman and wife Becky Sheets of Staples, MN, Linda and husband Charles Benson of Walnut Grove, MN, Kenny Sheets of Tracy, MN, Bruce Sheets, Tracy MN and Lester Sheets of Rockford, MN.

He is preceded in death by his father Lewis Sheets Sr. of Tracy, MN.

Lee was born on May 22, 1960 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota to Lewis and Lana Sheets. He graduated from Tracy High School in 1979. He married Sue Kesteloot (Mielke), in 1982. They made their home in Marshall, MN. Lee worked many jobs to provide for his family. The couple welcomed three children into their home. His children remember him as a caring, trustworthy, and dedicated father who encouraged them to work hard in life. Lee enjoyed camping and fishing with his friends and children. Lee also enjoyed spending time at the family farm. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 7th, 2014 at United Methodist Church 451 8th Street, Walnut Grove, MN. A luncheon will follow at the church. Pastor Seokhwan Jay Jeong will officiate the services. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lee’s life.

 

Justin Willard, 19

Justin D. Willard, age 19, of Lakeville, passed away October 22, 2014. He is survived by his loving parents, Dan and Meah; brothers: Jared and Josh; grandparents, Dr. Wilfedo and Alice Apostol, and Dale and Angeline Willard; aunts and uncles: John Apostol, Iris (Michael) Roberts, Douglas (Cindy) Willard, Susan Ohlenkamp, Sandra (Randy) Hanson, Darren (Jill) Willard and Dean (Misty) Willard; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Justin was born on March 01, 1995 in Hutchinson MN. He lived every day with a caring and giving spirit which impacted everyone who had the opportunity to be blessed by his presence. He strived to lift everyone with his meaningful actions and beautiful, sincere smile. He had the special talent of seeing the souls of everyone he met, and touching them in return. The young were drawn to his bright spirit, and the old appreciated his wisdom and truth.

Justin enjoyed many athletics and adventures; from cross country running and playing basketball with his friends, to water skiing, rock climbing, and nature hiking. He was also an avid computer gamer. Justin was a true Artist, with talent in many mediums including sketching, painting, writing, graphic art, and music, with great skill as a pianist. He had an amazingly deep mind, not only for understanding others, but also for wisdom, which was enhanced by an insatiable thirst for knowledge. Justin had an expansive range of philosophical interests, including studying other cultures, environments, the human spirit, and all things beyond their obvious appearances.

Funeral Service was held at 1 p.m., Monday, October 27, 2014 at Macalester College, Weyerhaeuser Memorial Chapel, 1600 Grand Ave., St. Paul, MN.
