Forty dollars in cash and several checks made out to the school for students’ milk money was stolen from the Milroy School over the weekend, according to the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident was reported to the authorities at 10:18 a.m. Sunday and is believed to have occurred between the hours of 10 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday.
The Sheriff’s Office said the suspect(s) broke a window on the southwest side of the school to gain entrance into the building. They then preyed open the doors to the school offices.
No information on the suspects is available.
The school on Monday declined comment on the matter since the incident is under investigation.
