Miss Tracy scholarships exceed $7,000
Nine young women are contestants in this year’s Miss Tracy Scholarship program, which comes to the Tracy Area High School stage Sunday, Sept. 2, 6:30 p.m.
The contestants are: Amanda Rosa, Bobbi Jo Evers, Cassidy Smith, Jessica Miller, Page Anderson, Kalley Hoek, Kallie Benson, Katie Medford, and Kristin Bohn. All will be seniors at TAHS this fall.
Over $7,000 in scholarships will be at stake. The 2019 Miss Tracy will receive a $1,500 scholarship, with $900 awarded to the first runner-up and $700 to the second runner-up. An additional $300 scholarship is given to the winner in each of five competition categories: Scholastic Achievement & Community Involvement, Creative Arts, Fitness Routine, Presence & Composure and Panel Evaluation.
Additional awards include the Lori Bangasser Memorial Scholarship, $300; and the Spirit Award, $300. A $250 alumni scholarship, supported by contributions from previous Miss Tracy participants, is given to each candidate. A non-monetary award, “Miss Photogenic” is selected through a vote of the public.
