Funeral services for Florence Smith, 90, of Tracy, were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018, at the Life Remembrance Center of Tracy. Interment followed at the Tracy City Cemetery. A light lunch and time of fellowship followed at the Remembrance Center.
Florence “Tiny” May Smith was born on May 3, 1928, in Tracy, MN, to William and Agnes Alf. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith. As a young child, she received her formal education at country school in rural Tracy. On June 24, 1950, she was married to Charles Smith. The couple spent the majority of their farming career near Morgan, MN. They farmed until retirement in 1985 when they moved to Tracy. Florence’s favorite pastimes included gardening, her flowers, playing bingo and just helping other people. She enjoyed spending time with family and all of her many friends right until the time of her death
Florence died on Monday, December 10, 2018, at Prairie View Senior Living in Tracy, MN.
She is survived by her children David (and wife Bonny) of Redwood Falls, Jeanette (and husband Lou) Grow of Redwood Falls, Dan (and wife Joyce) of Redwood Falls, and Tammy Smith (and Scott Cronin) of Tracy, nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, sisters Betty Kolbe of Mesa, AZ and Sandy Myers of Buckley, WA, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Smith, her parents William and Agnes Alf, her brothers Leonard Alf, Dale Alf, John Alf and sister Deloris Dieken.
