Funeral Services for Mildred Hansen are scheduled at IHM Church in Currie, MN on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. R. Paul Heiting officiating. The pallbearers are her grandchildren. Interment is at Calvary Cemetery in Currie, MN.

Mildred Hansen was born on July 18, 1921 in St. Kilian, Minnesota to Emil and Clara Fritz Loosbrock. She grew up in St Kilian and attended St. Kilian Catholic School. Mildred worked at the General Hospital in Worthington, MN. During WWII she worked for the Army Ordnance Service Command at Ak-Sar-Ben Field in Omaha, NE. Following the war, she returned to Minnesota and worked at the Milk Bar in the Slayton Theater.
On June 13, 1949 she and Jerome “Pi” Hansen were married at St. Kilian Church. Pi passed away on August 21, 1999. Mildred passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019 at her home in Currie, MN at the age of 97.
She was a member of IHM Church in Currie where she was active in the W.C.C.W serving as a past leader and Treasurer. She also was a member of the Currie American Legion Auxiliary, Currie Town and Country and Friends of Lake Shetek. She enjoyed nature and walking many miles at Lake Shetek State Park. On her 65th birthday she climbed Mount Oberlin in Glacier National Park in Montana with her daughter, Cid. She enjoyed several trips out west and to Alaska to visit family. Mildred was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was devoted to her faith and prayer life.
Survivors include her four children and their spouses, Cheri and Robert “Dusty” Thompson of Slayton, MN, Cindi “Cid” Fitzgerald of Currie, MN, Don and Luann Hansen of Currie, MN, and Doug Hansen of Boise, ID, seven grandchildren, Mitch, Jay and Nicole Thompson, Tess Fitzgerald, and Paco and Peter Jacobsen and Chris Hansen, and five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Pi, and six brothers, and one sister.
