Co-owner of Pelican Cove on Lake Shetek: ‘I want to bring something different to the area’
By Per Peterson
Pelican Cove. It just fits.
That’s the name of the new bar/restaurant on the shoreline of Lake Shetek. The business is an extension of Lance and Tammy Rogers, and Chuck and Robin Cessna’s vision that includes the Lake Shetek Lodge and Motel, which the group purchased at auction last November.
“This place is all about pelicans, and we’ve kind of got our own little cove,” Lance said.
The business sits on about 460 feet of shoreline on Valhalla Island. The lodge includes more than 20 units and 10 campsites with full hook-ups. But the more immediate news is the future opening of Pelican Cove, which will be the second restaurant on the island. Robin said they have set a mid-May date for a soft opening.
As far as hours, Robin said lunch will be served from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m., seven days a week. The dinner service will begin at 5 p.m.
