Transition will not affect current staff

Tealwood-owned Prairie View Healthcare Center will soon enter into a property management agreement with Accura HealthCare.
The move is part of Accura HealthCare assuming responsibility of day-to-day operations of 13 Tealwood Enterprises communities in Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska on Oct. 1; the other 37 Tealwood communities will be unaffected by the change.
The ownership team will stay in place, and the agreement will not affect Prairie View, or its employees in any way, said Prairie View Executive Director Brian Hinrichs. He said Accura has given its assurance that everyone will keep their job and no one will have to re-apply for their current position. All the employees have been notified of the change of ownership.
“This is a good thing,” Hinrichs said. “We’re not closing, or anything like that. Care is going to remain the same. No worries of closing. Nothing is changing. Continuity of care stays the same, staffing stays the same.”
Negotiations between Tealwood, which just recently celebrated its 30th anniversary, and Accura HealthCare have been ongoing for about a year, Hinrichs said. He added that the current operators of Tealwood — Howie Groff and Gail Sheridan — did their homework to find the right suitors for Prairieview.
