Carol Maxine Whaley, age 87 of Tracy, passed away peacefully at home, July 31, 2019 in Tracy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 5 at Tracy Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in the Tracy City Cemetery. Carol was born July 12, 1932 to Albert and Hattie (Wahl) Peterson in Mountain Lake. She was baptized August 14, 1932 at First Lutheran in Dundee and confirmed April 14, 1946 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran in Fulda. Carol graduated High School in Westbrook in 1950.
She was united in marriage to Lloyd “Bud” Whaley October 12, 1950 in Renville. Together they had three daughters Debra, Lanae and Julie. Carol was a member of Tracy Lutheran Church, was a Sunday School teacher and Campfire Girl leader. She enjoyed camping, blue grass festivals and road trips with her husband. Carol also enjoyed bowling, golfing, crafting, gardening and going to lunch with her friends. Carol especially loved spending time with her family.
Carol is survived by her daughters Debra (Cal) Ludeman of Tracy, Lanae (Don) Wilking of Lakefield and Julie (Jeff) West of Lakeville; grandchildren Ben (Stacey) Ludeman, Hilary (Paul) Sanders, Grant (Kari) Ludeman, Dillon (DeeDee) Wilking, Dru (Kaycee) Wilking, Dusty (Abby) Wilking, Taylor (Peyton) West and Brienne (fiancée Taylor Berent) West; great grandchildren Kendra, Brooklyn, Sheridan, Darian, Hayden, Audrey, Marissa, Natalie, Trenton, Alison, Katelyn, Nathan, Teegan, Destry, Rehme, Dalton, Donavan, Peyton and Drake; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, parents, sisters Lois Downing and Virginia Krogman, and her great grandson Bryson Wilking.
