Allan Joseph Rolling was born March 8, 1944 at Tracy, MN, the third of four children born to Harold and Agnes (Kosse) Rolling. He passed away peacefully at his home, on Friday, January 29, at the age of 76 years.
Allan was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy, MN, where he was a life-long member. There he taught faith formation classes, distributed communion, and served on the liturgical committee, and finance and parish councils. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Allan attended grade school in a one-room school house a mile from home. He attended St. John’s Preparatory School in Collegeville, MN, for two years then completed his education at Tracy High School graduating in 1962. He married Darlene Lord, November 30, 1963. Together they had four children. Allan served three years in the Army National Guard. He was a farmer all his life, living on the same farm site on which he grew up.
Allan loved to travel. Each winter, he’d spend time planning the next camping trip for the following summer. He enjoyed history and would read books, watch documentaries, and visit historical sites across the country. Allan enjoyed cooking for his family for holidays or other family gatherings. He enjoyed creating and was often dreaming up the next project, whether it was a swimming pond he built in the grove or farm implements he modified to suit his needs.
