Dolores Anita (McClain) Shaw, age 89 of Garvin, passed away with family at her side, on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Sanford Tracy Medical Center. Funeral Services were Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Tracy Area Funeral Home. Interment was in Bethel Cemetery, rural Garvin. Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com. Dolores Anita (McClain) Shaw was born September 20, 1931 in Tracy, Minnesota to Armour and Agnes (Jansen) McClain. She started her education in a country school near Tracy, and later graduated from Tracy High School. After high school, Dolores worked for a short time at Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. as a switchboard operator. On December 13, 1950, Dolores married the love of her life, Curtis Shaw at the Norwegian Lutheran Church in Westbrook. They lived by Milroy for a few years before settling on a farm near Garvin where they raised quarter horses. The last three years were spent living in Country View in Walnut Grove. Dolores enjoyed tending to her flowers, gardening, and canning everything she grew. She was a great cook, and loved sewing. Dolores loved watching the baby colts on the farm, and she enjoyed feeding and watching many different types of birds.
Dolores is survived by her husband, Curt; children: Bradley (Mary) Shaw, Jacqueline (Thomas) Olson, Bryan Shaw, Brent (Deb) Shaw, Jill (Jim) Skurat, Barry (Robin Dorenkamper) Shaw; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister Beverly Tweedt; sisters-in-law Linda and Lois Shaw; and brother-in-law Lee Shaw. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson Corey Olson, sister Shirley Peterson, and brother Welling McClain.
