A gathering to celebrate the life of Judy Hanson, 72, of Tracy, will take place from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 31, 2021, at the Circle Apartments in Tracy.
Judy Ann “Mama Judy” Hanson was born on February 4, 1949, in Tracy, MN, to Leonard and Evelyn Smith. She grew up in Amiret and attended school in Tracy. On May 27, 1967, she was united in marriage to Donald Hanson. To this union were born sons Dean and Darren. After raising her sons, Judy began working as a cook at the Christian Manor and then the Pizza Barn. Later she worked as a cleaner at the Tracy Motel and Post Office. Judy was very meticulous and dedicated to her craft. She enjoyed collecting dolls and was passionate about her horses.
Judy died suddenly and unexpectedly at her residence in Tracy on Sunday, December 26, 2021. She is survived by her son Dean (and Pam) Hanson of Tennessee, their son Dalton, son Darren Hanson of Sioux Falls, SD, husband Don Hanson of Tracy, sister Jane Smith of Tracy, brother Leonard Smith of Marshall, step-brother Steve Smith of Slayton and other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-sisters Joey and Diane.
