Richard “Rich” Neisen passed away at his home in Florence, CO at the age of 74. Rich was born January 16, 1948, in Marshall, MN to Francis Peter Neisen and Amy May Nicholson Neisen.
Rich is a 1966 graduate of Central Catholic High School. After graduation, he entered the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1967-1971. He was deployed during the Vietnam War to Guam, Alaska, and North Dakota. Rich spent his working career as a Police Officer and Sheriff’s Deputy in Minnesota and Colorado. After retirement, he then worked for Fremont County Cab, Inc. in Canon City, CO. On an unfortunate night in January 2001, Rich was shot in the face by a patron and suffered serious injuries. He recovered quickly and resumed his position with Fremont Cab until 2021.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Susan; brothers, Steven and Thomas; sister-in-law, Marie.
He is survived by his children, Jana and Matthew; brothers, Mark (Jennifer) and Doug (Laura); sisters, Mary (John) and Therese (Charles) Van Nevel; dear friends, Gary and Brenda Howard; and all his family within Fremont Cab.
At his request, there will be no services. He will be cremated and sent into the breeze over a pasture full of prairie dogs in Colorful Colorado.
