The City of Tracy’s hopes in adding some much-needed housing to the local landscape have, for the moment, been dashed.
Because of the State Legislature’s inability to come up with a plan on how to spend a record $9 billion budget surplus, cities large and small are finding the road to progress a bumpy one.
For Tracy, the surplus standstill at the Capitol means, among other things, there will be no state money available in a workforce housing grant of which it was hoping to get a piece to develop more housing in town.
