Amber West is the new face of the Tracy Area Chamber of Commerce.
West is one week into her new job as Chamber director and said she is looking forward to meeting new people, building relationships and continuing to help offer fun community events to Tracy residents and others in the area.
βI like the fast pace and planning the events,β West said. βIn this position, you get to meet new people and draw people into Tracy.β
Born and raised in Walnut Grove, West grew up on a farm about 5 miles outside of the small town. She graduated from Westbrook-Walnut Grove in 2011, and studied accounting and finance at Southwest Minnesota State University. After working for a few banks and in the insurance industry, West turned her attention to the medical field. She went to Ridgewater Community College to become a paramedic, graduating three years ago. She then started working full-time at CentraCare in Redwood Falls before moving to Tracy 2 1/2 years ago.
