The City of Tracy continues to discuss future signage at Bocar Liquors.
The subject was brought up again at last week’s Tracy City Council meeting.
Liquor store manager Tam Schons said at the meeting that one option would be an electronic sign on the boulevard, which would help attract more customers to the store.
“We had an electronic sign company come in and kind of show us their stuff — it’s like a $40,000 deal though,” Tracy City Administrator Erik Hansen said. “It’s not the kind of thing we want to take lightly. They said they think it increases sales, and I can see that if you use it right. We’re not sure yet at this point, because it’s a significant investment.”
Hansen said a new electronic sign would be similar to the Lions’ sign at Subway, only with more updated technology. He added that the City would also have an option to lease a new electronic sign.
Schons said if an electronic sign were to be put up, it might be positioned lower than other signs such as the one at the Subway location.
