Incumbent Pam Cooreman defeated her challenger, Tony Peterson, by a margin of 348-301 in Tuesday’s election to hold onto her seat as mayor of Tracy.
Cooreman was a write-in candidate, who was encouarged to run for another term to give Tracy residents a choice this year. Peterson was aiming for another term as mayor.
The Tracy City Council will have a bit of a different look in 2023.
Winning council seats Tuesday were incumbents Jeri Schons, Dave Tiegs and Jan Arvizu.
Schons earned 495 total votes, Tiegs 464 votes and Arvizu 151 votes. Reuben Sundheim had 133 votes and fellow write-in Dan Jansen had 50.
Ryan Verlinde will join the District No. 2904 in 2023.
Incumbents Jody Bauer and current chair Rod Benson led the way Tuesday, followed by Verlinde.
Fellow challenger Megan Gernentz finished fourth in the race to fill the three open seats.
