The Tracy City Council on Monday took care of a number of housekeeping details, one of which was the swearing-in of its newest member.
Former council member Jan Arvizu officially joined the council, and she was joined by current members who won their respective elections, Jeri Schons and Dave Tiegs, along with council member Tom Dobson, who is serving out the final two years of Kou Thao’s four-year term, and Mayor Pam Cooreman, who defeated Tony Peterson in the November election.
Two appointments were ratified: Shane Daniels (deputy city administrator) and Diane Campbell (deputy city clerk). Tracy City Administrator Erik Hansen was appointed city clerk, and Matt Gross from Quarnstrom & Doering was appointed city attorney.
The following council appointments were also made: Tom Dobson, Mayor Pro-Tem; George Landuyt, Community Ed Advisory Board; Arvizu, Planning Commission; Tiegs and Dobson EDA members; Schons, Hospital Advisory Board; and Seth Schmidt, Wheels Across the Prairie Heritage Center Board and Park Board.
