It’s a celebration!

A wide range of musical offerings — from holiday favorites and poignant solos, to an upbeat spin on “Joy to the World” — filled the church for this year’s Celebation in Song, put on by the Fine Arts Council of Tracy.

The annual event included solo songs from Sophia Dieter, Madison Johnson, Elizabeth Fultz, Owen Elsen, Piper Freeburg, Grace Dolan, Gale Otto and Tracy Area High School graduate Justin Lessman, who tickled the ivories with a rockin’ rendition of the holiday classic “Joy to the World.” Samson Obel also soloed on his cello with the Elvis hit “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” The TAHS vocal jazz choir also performed, as did the Southwest Minnesota Men’s Chorus and the Lake Sarah Baptist Praise Team.

Accompianists included Vicki Streifel, Shannon Benson and Wendy Johnson, who also directs the vocal jazz group and men’s chorus.
