Plans are now officially underway to convert an upstairs area of the Veterans Memorial Center into a true creative space for all.
Val Quist, Tracy Public Library head librarian and member of the creative project team, presented an Activate Rural Learning Lab proposal to the Tracy City Council on Monday. The goal of the Activate Rural Lab — a two-year program fronted by the Department of Public Transformation — is to support community leaders and artists in creating spaces that encourage creativity and social connection.
“This is a space where people can get together … and create something,” Quist said. “What will Tracy’s creative space look like? That’s what we’ll decide over the next two years.”
