An otherwise non-descript Tracy City Council meeting on Feb. 13 started out with what council members hope will turn into future constructive discussions about open communication between members.
The root of the dialogue was a Jan. 25 letter to the editor to the Tracy Area Headlight Herald, penned by council member Dave Tiegs. In the letter, Tiegs shared his opinion against the proposed new community center in Tracy, sharing that “multiple people” between the ages of 30-60 have told him they will never use the center.
He also raised questions about the cost to keep up the building, staffing, and heating and cooling it (all on the City’s dime) and wrote that there are a number of other venues in town that should be utilized.
