Bouyed by public outcry, including in-person testimony and a petition signed by 45 people, the Tracy City Council on Monday pulled back from its drive to include Greenwood Park as part of future housing plans.
The council had originally passed a resolution to study areas of Greenwood Park and Sebastian Park as two city-owned areas of interest for housing development. However, at the May 8 meeting, it received kickback from Greenwood residents, who didn’t want to lose part of the spacious park. That was followed this past Monday by the introduction of the petition and more feedback from the public, who made it clear they did not want their park to be considered for the potential project.
