Laverne had Shirley. Lucy had Ethel. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler seemingly do nothing on TV without the other. And since 2003, Susan Meyer has had Marla Anderson.
All these duos played off each other in some fashion and over their years together formed a bond that made them each stronger. For the latter, that meant combining their skills and patience in the kindergarten classroom to offer the best possible education to the youngest of Tracy Area Elementary School students.
“Because of numbers, they were going to have to move a couple paras from the high school to the grade school — I was a para rep at the time sitting in on a meeting and an opening in kindergarten came up and I said, ‘How about me?’” said Anderson, who just completed her final year at Meyer’s side in one of the TAES kindergarten rooms.
