It’s been a little over four years since Sandy Fultz was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Besides her surgery and six rounds of chemo, her illness hasn’t slowed her down much. In fact, it’s made her even more active, at least when it comes to reaching out to fellow cancer survivors and raising awareness about a disease that affects pretty much all of us in some way.
Fultz, who shortly after her diagnosis started a clothing/accessory website to help cancer survivors look their best, has kicked off another venture: a local support group that was born from a discussion she and Pat Vickerman had about the benefits of cancer survivors having a forum to share their stories in a non-formal way. They eventually agreed on a date, time and place to hold their monthly meetings.
