The rain clouds passed through just in time to spruce up the flowers for last Wednesday’s 8th annual Tracy Area Quilts & Gardens Tour.
With almost 50 volunteers and several hundred attendees, the Balaton/Garvin area was abuzz with activity all afternoon. A bus brought over 50 quilters from the New Ulm area on the tour, something unique to this year. Event organizer Jolynn Johns counted more 150 people at one single stop at one point during the afternoon.
Each of the six stops on the tour had something different to offer, but immense talent was showcased at each. Multiple stops had views of Lake Yankton, and included a few beach- and lake-themed quilts.
