Acting on a request from a downtown business owner, the Tracy City Council at its most recent meeting agreed to install a handicapped parking sign.
A lengthy discussion followed the reading of the request by Scott Johnson, owner of Wheels & Heels Appliance — not whether or not to install a sign, but where exactly to put it. The original request was to have it placed in front of the store at 169 3rd St., of which Tracy Mayor Pam Cooreman is one of the proprietors (Cooreman uses a wheelchair).
