On the final day of Farmfest last week, multiple ceremonies took place honoring extraordinary farmers and their families.
Todd and Joan Miller, of Balaton, were presented with the honor of Murray County Farm Family of the Year.
“Minnesota recognizes the vital role of farm families, and celebrates the many contributions of farm families to the University’s Farm Families of the Year program,” said Gov. Tim Waltz’s Farm Family Day declaration, read by Commissioner of the Minnesota Dept. of Agriculture Thom Peterson.
Each county’s farm family is chosen by local, county-based University of Minnesota Extension committee members, and are selected based on “their demonstrated commitment to enhancing and supporting agriculture.”
