Emily Augustin admits she never experienced the moment where she knew she wanted to become a teacher. Growing up, it’s just something she knew she always wanted to do.
“There was never a back-up of, if you couldn’t be a teacher what would you do,” said Augustin, who is in her first year as a Tracy Area Elementary School second-grade teacher. “It’s kind of what I knew I was meant to do.”
Born and raised in Springfield, Augustin attended Southwest Minnesota State University for four years, earning her Early Childhood/Elementary Education degree. She moved back to Springfield after college and taught fourth grade for two years and first grade for one year. She moved back to Marshall this summer to live with her fiancé, Tyler Stahl.
