Joyce Elaine Sanderson age 76 of Lonsdale, MN formerly of Tracy, MN and Richville, MN passed away on November 10, 2023, in Rochester, MN. Joyce was born on March 26, 1947, in Storm Lake, IA to Gail and Helen Widman. Joyce was baptized at the Methodist Church in Storm Lake, IA. She enjoyed her family, being outside, tending her flowers, planting trees, plus the use of proper grammar and spelling, plus loved reading books. Joyce collected many different items but her favorites included milk glass and miniatures. Quilting and sewing were just two of her creative specialties.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Darrell; daughters, Amy (Richard) Jants, Penny Stewart, Candace (Jerry) VanDeWiele, and Carrie (Mark) Mercie; grandchildren, Matthew, Amanda, Michael, Kimberly, Shaun (Kellie), Maranda, Nathan (Katie), Anna Beth (Jacob), Katy, and Jerry; great grandchildren, Aaliyah, Aydin, Ashallyn, Oktober, Novalai, and Reagan; siblings, Janet Scherbart , Robert (Gail) Widman, Beverly (Denis) Wolff, and Russell (Kathy) Widman, also nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Trondhjem Lutheran Church, 7525 Garfield Ave., Lonsdale, MN. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with a light lunch following the service. In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree in memory of Joyce.
