There might not be any documentation that proves Willy Wonka was the product of a Catholic school, but one thing’s for sure — his main goal was to make sure people had a sweet time.
The fictional confectionery connoisseur, who has a striking resemblance to John Lanoue, made a surprise appearance at Saturday evening’s St. Mary’s School Winter Warm-Up. Along with his staff of loyal Oompa Loompas, the good-hearted sultan of sugar did his best to ensure everyone went home with a smile on their face.
This was just one part of the second annual Warm-Up, geared toward raising money for the school and its students. Those five people were the recipients of a coveted Golden Ticket that was given to those whose number was drawn in a new raffle.
