The Tracy City Council at its most recent meeting discussed the use of small, motorized vehicles in town — in particular, the use by minors — as well as safety issues that are often associated with recreational vehicle use.
The topic arose mainly because some council members say it’s become a safety issue.
“People have expressed with me concern about seeing children in the street with motorized-types of recreation things — now we’ve got motorized scooters; there’s a couple of kids that have these really small motorcycles, and I’ve heard that a lot of these children are being careless at intersections,” council member Jan Arvizu said. “Somebody saw someone under the age of 16 driving a 4-wheeler pulling another kid in another little vehicle with a rope.”
