Tracy residents and the Eagles Club community continue to mourn the loss of soft-spoken friend, devoted family man and engaging community supporter, Steve Meyer, who was killed in a motorcycle accident late Friday night.
The Tracy Fire Department, Tracy Police Department and Tracy Ambulance, along with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, were called to the 1000 block of County Road 11 in Monroe Township — about 2 miles south of Tracy — at 11:05 p.m. Friday. According to Lyon County Dispatch and the Tracy Fire Department, Meyer hit a utility pole, downing live power lines. The LCSO reported that Meyer was traveling south on County Road 11 on his 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he left the roadway and struck the pole near the Lyon/Murray Line Road. Meyer, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Eagles Club member Jeremy Trulock called Meyer the heart and soul of the Eagles Club.
