If you’re waiting for summer to begin, wait no more.
School is out, and the weather is getting warmer, but if you’re a Tracy resident, summer doesn’t really begin until this weekend.
The Tracy Aquatic Center will open for the season on Friday, and the first Movie in the Park — one day prior to the big day that features Burgers Bands & Brews — signals the official start of summer in Tracy.
As a precursor to Saturday, the year’s first Movie in the Park will take place at dusk (about 9 p.m.) on Friday in Central Park. The movie will be “Wonka.”
Bounce houses by Just Bounce Rentals of Tracy will be open for the kids from 7 p.m. until the start of the movie, and everyone is encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and, of course, bug spray. Free popcorn will be given out during the movie.
