Tracy Public Works Director Shane Daniels has somehow found time in recent weeks to watch some important video recordings. But he wasn’t watching videos of his children, or a favorite movie.
Daniels was viewing the inside of sewer pipes around town, and what he saw did not paint a pretty picture.
“This is going to create some waves in town,” Tracy City Administrator Jeff Carpenter said. “We’ve been doing a lot of filming of sewer lines, from the street to the houses … we’ve got sewer pipes that are 80-, 90-, 100-years-old that are clay, cast-iron and are collapsed. There’s leakage coming out of the bottom, there are tree branches growing up into them, and we’ve had some citizens that have had some issues.”
