Tamie Whitaker, age 59, of Canby, MN passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. Memorial services were on Friday, May 31, 2024 at the Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Canby, MN with Rev. LeRoy Hopper officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Canby is entrusted with the arrangements.
Tamie Sue Krueger Stripling Whitaker was born to Ray and Alvina on May 4, 1965, in Springfield, MN.
Tamie grew up in Tracy, MN and attended and graduated from Tracy Area High School. She was confirmed at the Tracy United Methodist Church.
Tamie was lucky enough to not only find love once but twice. Tamie married Terry Stripling on July 2, 1987, blessing this union was Eric, Andy, Katie, and Brandon.
Tamie loved being a mom and had a close relationship with each of her children. She spoke to her children almost daily. In recent years, Tamie had been promoted to Grandma also.
After Terry’s passing, Tamie found love again with Ray Whitaker on Feb 10, 2004. Tamie loved spending time with family and friends playing cards games and going to Tracy Box Car Days every year.
After an illness this spring, Tamie was able to share more gifts of life though the Life Source program of being an organ donor.
Tamie is survived by her husband Ray Whitaker of Canby; children: Eric of Granite Falls, Andy of Canby, Katie (Nathan) Halverson of Kerkhoven, Brandon (Humberto) Stripling of Grand Forks; mother, Alvina Moyars of Tracy, sister/best friend Kim Coquyt of Marshall, brothers, Todd Krueger of Tracy and Chad (Sue Ann) Moyars of Tracy, grandchildren Uriah, Lena and Ezekiel Halverson of Kerkhoven, many nieces and nephews.
Tamie was preceded in death by husband, Terry Stripling, father, Ray Krueger, and stepfather Larry Moyars.
