High, but dry

The sun finally came out — and stayed out — Saturday evening following a very wet week where locals saw lake levels rise, low-lying areas of farm fields turn into small lakes and basements take on water.

Measurable rain fell five out of six days last week (June 17-22). The big hit came Friday evening when more than one-half inch of rain fell in about 15 minutes. A total of 1.5 inches of rain fell on that day alone, followed by another one-plus inch on Saturday.
